Why an Encaustic Experience?
Creating with molten wax brings me immense joy and satisfaction. Working with beeswax has become a meditative process—a space where I find both rest and renewal. In these moments, I feel deeply connected to nature and closer to the Lord through this unique medium.
What energizes me just as much is meeting new people and witnessing the joy of their creative discovery—often unveiling talents they didn’t realize they had. This is the heart of why I love sharing the Encaustic Experience, and I truly believe you’ll love it too.
About Encaustics
Encaustic art traces its origins back to ancient Greek civilization. The word Encaustic is derived from the Greek term Encaustikos, meaning "to burn in" or "fuse with heat."
Greek shipbuilders were among the first to use this technique, mixing hot wax with damar resin to patch holes and decorate their ships. The method was later refined for artistic purposes, and Pausias, a Greek painter from the first half of the 4th century, is credited with inventing the encaustic painting technique (source: Ruth Maude).
This medium combines beeswax, resin, and pigments to create truly one-of-a-kind art. Its sweet aroma, rich colors, textured surfaces, and unparalleled transparency and finish make encaustic art a sensory and visual delight.
